Ihwan is a village of the Amis, an indigenous people of Taiwan.
I stayed with the Xu Zhu family during a fishing trip in the village.
My hostess, Mrs. Yu Lan, was accommodating and talkative.
One day, she told me a folktale about the foundation of her village that she heard from her grandfather.
I asked around to ascertain the truth of the story, and despite many mysteries, I completed "A village where (the) owl sings."
I created this documentary using photos and audio recordings I made at that time, in the hope that these photos I took of the harvest festival and the village will be of some help for the future economic development of Ihwan.
